BCPS Awarded $11.9 Million Magnet Schools Assistance Program Grant
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is being awarded an $11.9 million federal grant to create and expand six elementary magnet schools that will specialize in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The three-year Magnet Schools Assistance Grant, awarded from the U.S. Department of Education, will be used to expand choice options for students, increase student achievement, and prepare students for jobs and careers in these fields.
This grant will support BCPS in creating a new Magnet Program which will transfer Colbert into a comprehensive Sprouting STEM Museum Magnet School!
“This competitive grant will ensure that our students receive a high-quality education that prepares them at an earlier age to meet the challenges of our global economy,” said Broward Schools Superintendent Robert W.
